Parking on Snow-Covered Streets Prohibited for Plowing and Removal
Please remember that there is no parking on the streets when the roads are snow covered. Your vehicle is subject to ticketing and towing if it is left on the roadway. Please don’t put yourself in this situation. Please be safe while driving and only leave your house if necessary.
7-9 Temporary Parking Prohibited for Snow Plowing and Removal
-
Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the streets and highways, an emergency shall exist and no vehicle shall be parked on any of the streets or highways or portions thereof within the Township of Little Falls.
-
The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent parking will not interfere with snow plowing or the normal flow of traffic.
-
Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic, and any police officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle. The owner shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal and storage which may result from such removal before regaining possession of the vehicle. Any violation of this section on any Township road shall be punishable by a fine of $100 per offense. No appearance in municipal court shall be required for the payment of this fine.
Residents are permitted to park their vehicles along the rear section of the Morris Canal Parking lot off of Paterson Ave. Residents are asked to remove their vehicles from this lot following the conclusion of the snow clean up on the streets so that the parking lot can then be cleared.
