Class Descriptions
Fit 4 You:
“FIT 4 YOU” is a fitness class for active older adults, held every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 am. The cost is $7 per class, and everyone is welcome. The class focuses on strength training, toning, and flexibility exercises. We use straps, fitness balls, and light dumbbells (1-5 lbs., based on your fitness level). There are also cardio movements to music and some yoga poses for balance.
Fit Over Fifty:
Join us for a standing fitness class every Friday from 11:20 AM to 12:05 PM. The session will start with a fun dance aerobic routine lasting 6-8 minutes, followed by a dynamic stretching sequence. We’ll then move into a variety of strength and resistance exercises, concluding with balance training and stretching. Each week, we’ll use different equipment, including light weights, TheraBand’s, small fitness balls, fitness circles, and yoga straps. This class will help you strengthen major muscle groups, improve balance and cardiovascular endurance, enhance joint flexibility and range of motion, increase bone density, and reduce aches and pains. The class is led by Sunny Corona, a certified fitness instructor from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Modifications will be offered to accommodate any injuries or limitations. Participants are asked to bring their own light weights (2-3 lbs.). The cost is $10 per class, payable in cash to the instructor.
Fit 4 Mom
FIT4MOM is a nationwide brand that operates through corporate-owned and franchise businesses in 40 states. They seek to inspire “Strength in Motherhood” by providing fitness classes, community, and support for moms in every stage of motherhood. As a company whose values are Love, Inspiration, Inclusivity, Positivity, Authenticity, and Ripple – they are also committed to using their platform to show the beauty of all moms by intentionally threading diversity into all areas of their business, and inclusion into all that they do. Classes are held from 9:30AM-10:30AM and registration is available HERE.
Gentle Yoga:
Gentle Yoga is a modified form of traditional yoga, perfect for all ages and abilities. It focuses on increasing strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance at a comfortable pace. Join certified instructor Sunny Corona for a mix of seated and standing poses, using props like chairs, yoga straps, and Thera-Bands for support. Classes are $10 each and take place on Fridays from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Qigong:
Join us for a Qigong class (pronounced “Chee Gung”), featuring simple stretching, range of motion exercises, mindful movements, breathing techniques, and a brief meditation for stress relief. This practice includes self-healing techniques and key acupressure points. Qigong is easier than Taijiquan because it doesn’t require memorizing linked movements. Each exercise is gentle and helps train both your mind and body, relieving stress while building balanced energy. Classes are on Tuesdays from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with a fee of $10 per class. The instructor, Gary McCabe, is internationally certified in Qigong and has over 15 years of teaching experience.
Tai Chi:
Join us to learn the graceful movements of Taijiquan, which can help lower blood pressure, improve balance, and even boost brain size. This slow-motion martial art is often used as a moving meditation to reduce stress and enhance flexibility and leg strength while promoting the flow of “Qi” or life force. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 10:30AM to 11:30 AM and are open to all levels, including beginners and the cost is $10 per class. Mr. McCabe, who has over 25 years of teaching experience, leads the classes.
Zumba Gold:
Zumba Gold is a fun dance fitness program featuring Latin and international rhythms like Merengue, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Mambo, and Tango, designed for active adults. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Senior citizens pay just $5 per class, and everyone is welcome.
Zumba Tone:
This class is led by Karin Rodriguez, taking place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM. It is designed to provide a more vigorous workout, suitable for those looking to enhance their fitness levels. The fee is $5 per class, making it an affordable option for anyone interested in joining.
