Water Main Replacement Project To Start Soon
New Jersey American Water is preparing to:
- Replace approximately 1,800 feet of aging 4-inch & 6-inch cast iron water main that was installed in the 1940s with new 12-inch ductile iron main;
- Replace 32 utility-owned service lines; and
- Upgrade the 3 hydrants and tie-in to mains
at cross streets along the route. This activity will take place on Montclair Ave. between Main St. and Meadow Drive. Road closures & detours will be in place while the project is underway.
Weather permitting, our local, qualified contractor, Montana, expects construction to begin on or about May 5th and expects to be completed with the project by June 2025. Final pavement restoration will be completed in the Fall of 2025.
Work outside of these hours is not expected unless required to maintain project schedule.
